Scissor Lifts

Scissor Lifts

The scissor lift, often acknowledged as a platform lift, is an industrial lift that has been customized for usage within wholesale and retail settings. Industrial platform lifts have been used for decades in the manufacturing and production industries to efficiently elevate and lower people, materials and gear. The scissor lift is a platform with wheels that functions like a forklift. It is convenient for tasks that demand the mobility and rate of transporting individuals and materials into the air.

When fully extended, the scissor lift can reach 6.4 to 18.8 meters or from 21 to 62 feet above ground. It is unique in the fact that it does not rely on a straight column to elevate its platform, rather folding supports underneath it come together and stretch the platform upwards. Offered with either an electric or hydraulic motor, the scissor lift offers a rough ride due to the lift's design that keeps it from traveling with a continuous velocity. Instead, it travels faster in the middle of its path and slows down with additional extension.

Since the first scissor platform lifts were produced in the 1970's, they have seen a lot of improvements in the materials used and safety features added, while still keeping with the identical base design. Closely associated to the forklift, scissor lifts are in reality recognized for their effectiveness and portability, as they are the only mechanized platform lift that can be easily kept in a corner spot in the office. They are most commonly utilized indoors from warehouses to automotive repair, these machines function in many diverse worksites carrying out many unusual jobs.
